Welcome to GranGuard. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the GranGuard website, platform, and services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using GranGuard, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before using the Service.

1. About Our Service

GranGuard is an educational platform designed to help users recognize, avoid, and respond to online scams and fraud. Our Service includes educational courses and training materials, scam alerts and threat updates, tools to help verify suspicious links and messages, and a range of support and guidance resources.

GranGuard is an educational and informational service. We do not guarantee prevention of scams, fraud, or financial loss. We provide knowledge and tools to help you make informed decisions, but ultimate responsibility for your online safety remains with you.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and subscribe to GranGuard. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

If you purchase a membership on behalf of another person (such as a parent or family member), you represent that you have the authority to agree to these Terms on their behalf.

3. Account Registration

To access GranGuard, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • Maintain the security of your password and account.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Membership Plans and Billing

4.1 Subscription Plans

GranGuard offers subscription-based membership plans. Details of available plans, features, and pricing are displayed on our website at the time of purchase.

4.2 Billing

  • Monthly subscriptions are billed on the same date each month.
  • Annual subscriptions are billed once per year on the anniversary of your signup date.
  • All prices are displayed in your local currency (GBP or USD) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

4.3 Payment

We accept major credit and debit cards. By providing payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method and authorize us to charge it for the subscription fees.

4.4 Automatic Renewal

Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged the then-current rate.

4.5 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. Any price changes will be communicated in advance and will apply to your next billing cycle. If you do not agree to the change, you may cancel before renewal.

5. Free Trials and Promotions

  • Free trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial period.
  • You must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
  • Promotional pricing applies only for the stated period; standard pricing applies thereafter.

6. Cancellation and Refunds

6.1 Cancellation

You may cancel anytime through your account settings or by contacting us at support@granguard.org. Upon cancellation, your access continues until the end of the current billing period, your subscription will not renew, and no further charges will occur.

6.2 Refunds

  • Monthly subscriptions are not refunded for partial months.
  • Annual subscriptions may be refunded within 30 days of purchase or renewal; after 30 days no refunds are issued.
  • If you experience technical issues that prevent access to the Service, contact us and we will work to resolve the issue or provide an appropriate remedy.

7. Family Plan and Sponsored Memberships

7.1 Family Plans

  • The Sponsor is responsible for payment and managing family member access.
  • Each family member receives their own login credentials and progress tracking.
  • The Sponsor may add or remove family members at any time through account settings.

7.2 Sponsored Members

  • Your access depends on the Sponsor maintaining an active subscription.
  • If the Sponsor cancels or removes you, your access ends.
  • You may purchase your own Individual membership to maintain independent access.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Share credentials with individuals outside your membership plan.
  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display our content without permission.
  • Attempt to circumvent security features or access restrictions.
  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes or interfere with the Service.
  • Impersonate another person or upload malicious code.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on GranGuard—including text, graphics, logos, images, videos, courses, and software—is owned by GranGuard or our licensors. Your subscription grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, create derivative works, or remove proprietary notices.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

  • We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
  • We do not warrant that the information provided will prevent all scams or fraud.
  • We do not guarantee specific results from using the Service.

GranGuard is an educational service. No security education or tool can prevent all scams, and you use the Service at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GRANGUARD AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.
  • Financial losses resulting from scams or security incidents, even if you followed our guidance.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; where prohibited, we comply with applicable law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GranGuard and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

13. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described there.

14. Changes to These Terms

  • We will post updated Terms on our website and update the “Last Updated” date.
  • For material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service.
  • Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you do not agree to the changes, stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.

15. Termination

15.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and contacting us to delete your account.

15.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms.
  • You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity.
  • We are required to do so by law.
  • We discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice).

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ends immediately.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

For Users in the United Kingdom:

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

For Users in the United States:

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California.

17. General Provisions

17.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and GranGuard.

17.2 Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.

17.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

17.4 Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
