Frequently Asked Questions
About the Subscription
We cover a wide range of security and cyber fraud topics specifically curated for older adults. We compile the latest data from FBI fraud reports to determine the most relevant risks in each demographic, then sort by location. During the signup process, we match this information to the details provided on your account to make sure you (or the family members you choose to sponsor) receive the most relevant training content.
So depending on your region and demographic, you'll see topics ranging from relationship scams, fake tech support calls, and password hygiene, to deepfakes, voice cloning, and multi-factor authentication.
That's absolutely okay. We understand the challenge and have several options to ensure your family member can still benefit from our content.
There's no app to download or complicated setup—everything works through a simple website login, and we keep things easy to navigate. We also send a printed Welcome Kit in the mail, full of easy-to-follow guides and scam defense tools. Plus, our email newsletters deliver monthly safety tips, so even if they don’t log in regularly, they’ll still stay informed.
Our goal is to make cybersecurity education accessible and effective for everyone, regardless of their tech skills.
Absolutely. No hidden tricks or weird hoops to jump through to cancel. Simply cancel your account from the Subscription management page, give us a call, or send us an email if you need any help.
Yes—you can be their sponsor. Whether it’s a parent, grandparent, or friend, you’ll be able to create their account, manage their subscription, and support them from your own dashboard. It’s a great way to keep someone you care about safe.
We've tried to make the sponsoring process easy during signup, just by adding the email of the recipient you have in mind.
About this Project
We’re a small team of security experts who’ve spent our careers building training programs and cyber security tools to protect corporations. When we saw the rise in online scams targeting older adults, we were shocked at how little was available to help regular families fight back. While there are some free, static, text-based resources out there, we felt it was time for a dedicated provider focused on protecting our friends and family. GranGuard is the service we wished existed when our own loved ones needed help. Now, we’re making it available to yours.
Nope—scams don’t care how old you are, and neither do we. GranGuard is designed to be easy enough for seniors, but useful for anyone who wants better scam protection, especially family members supporting loved ones.
Our content is valuable for anyone looking to improve their online safety and become more aware of potential threats. By learning alongside their older relatives, younger family members can help reinforce the lessons and provide additional support, creating a safer online environment for the whole family.
It's also worth noting that we'll be expanding our content catalogue in the future based on demand for younger demographics. If this is something you're interested in, please send us a message.
We currently only offer content in English. However, we are committed to making our services accessible to a wider audience and plan to support additional languages in the future based on demand. We value your feedback and encourage you to let us know if you have specific language needs, as this helps us prioritize future development.
Donations: Your financial contributions are invaluable in helping us expand our reach and improve our services. Every donation goes directly towards developing new content, enhancing our platform, and supporting our users.
Contribute to Our Research: Participate in our research efforts by sharing your experiences and insights. This helps us better understand user needs and improve our cybersecurity training.
Offer Your Skills: If you have expertise in cybersecurity, education, content creation, or any related field, we can include your skills as a third-party service provider in the GranGuard ecosystem.
